Majina Walimu Walioitwa Kwenye Mafunzo 2025 Somo la Business Studies | Names of Teachers Selected for the 2025 Training in the Subject of Business Studies.
The Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE), in collaboration with the organization Educate!, is planning to conduct training for newly recruited teachers who have reported to their duty stations. A total of 1,571 teachers will be trained to teach Business Studies in government secondary schools across mainland Tanzania.
The main goal of this training is to equip teachers with the skills to use various teaching methods for the Business Studies subject for students in Forms I to IV. The training will be conducted in three phases from May 27 to June 11, 2025, at different centers, each phase lasting three days, as indicated in the attached schedule.
Additionally, the training will be residential, meaning teachers will stay at the respective training centers to facilitate the smooth implementation of the program. Furthermore, the training will be preceded by a special launch event to be held on May 27, 2025, at Tabora Teachers’ College starting at 8:00 a.m. Teachers assigned to attend training at this center are required to participate in the launch event on the stated date.

According to the Tanzania syllabus, Business Studies is a subject taught primarily at the secondary school level (especially in Ordinary Level - O-Level). It covers fundamental concepts and skills related to commerce, entrepreneurship, accounting, economics, and office management.
Key Objectives of Business Studies in the Tanzanian Curriculum:
1. Understanding the Business Environment – Introduces learners to the business world and economic activities.
2. Promoting Entrepreneurship – Encourages self-reliance through entrepreneurial skills and mindset.
3. Developing Managerial and Financial Skills – Teaches basics of bookkeeping, business management, and financial decision-making.
4. Instilling Work Ethics and Integrity – Promotes honesty, responsibility, and ethical conduct in business.
5. Career Preparation – Prepares students for careers in commerce, accounting, management, and related fields.
