Serikali Yatangaza Nafasi 912 za Ajira kwa Walimu na Walezi wa Watoto
The Public Service Employment Secretariat, on behalf of Ministries, Departments and Government Agencies (MDAs) and Local Government Authorities (LGAs), has announced 912 job vacancies for qualified and capable Tanzanians, following an announcement made on January 14, 2026.
According to the announcement with reference number JA.9/259/01/C/16, most positions have been allocated to the teaching cadre, especially in Science subjects, as well as a few positions for childcare workers.
The advertisement states that 709 positions are for Grade III C – Mathematics Teacher , where those appointed will be responsible for preparing lesson plans, teaching, conducting student assessments, supervising attendance, providing academic advice and participating in the overall development of students.
Applicants are required to have a Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor of Teaching with Mathematics, or a Non-Teacher Degree with Mathematics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. These positions are paid at the TGTS – D salary level .
In addition, 201 positions have been allocated for Grade III C – Physics Teachers , who have similar responsibilities to Mathematics teachers, including teaching, assessing students and supervising educational progress in the school.
The qualifications of applicants are to have a Bachelor of Education or Teaching with Physics as a subject, or a Non-Education Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. These positions are also paid at the TGTS – D salary level .
Similarly, two (02) positions have been allocated for Child Care Assistants , who will be responsible for participating in the implementation of child care, early childhood development and care programs, preparing daily activity schedules, providing advice to parents and participating in community outreach on child services.
Applicants are required to be Form Four or Six graduates who have obtained a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Social Welfare or Psychology from institutions recognized by the Government. These positions are paid at the TGS B salary level .
The advertisement clarifies that all applicants must be Tanzanian citizens not exceeding 45 years of age, while applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and specify their status in the employment application system.
Applicants are required to submit legally certified birth, education and professional certificates, while temporary documents such as “provisional results” or “result slips” are specified as not being accepted.
For applicants who studied outside Tanzania, they are required to ensure that their certificates are verified by relevant authorities including TCU, NECTA and NACTVET.
In addition, applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have the approval of the Principal Secretary. The deadline for submitting job applications is January 28, 2026 , and all applications should be submitted through the Public Service Employment Secretariat's Electronic Recruitment Portal .
